Nearly 5 years ago, Hales Corners heating and Air installed a new high-efficiency furnace for us. The furnace works fine, but since that time the heating ducts have been much noisier. We dealt with it for some time as we were initially told not much could be done about it. Within the last month or so, the noise had become intolerable, so an appointment was made to have HCHA try to determine the cause of the noise. Two techs arrived today, a regular tech and a trainee. It was explained to us that the blower on the new furnace was more powerful than the one on the old furnace, so that could be part of the problem. After less than 10 minutes in the basement, the trainee discovered that the gas pipe to the water heater was leaning up against one of the ducts. He pushed it away and the clanging noise stopped, and so far it has not returned. Hard to believe how simple a fix this was! The tech said that he could provide a strip of Styrofoam to provide separation between the duct and the pipe. I told him it wasn't needed. He then informed us that we'd be billed their normal service change plus the work they did to stop the noise. He told us the total would be $170. I told them we are not paying $170 for the work they did. A call was made to the “boss” and the boss informed the tech to not charge for the work. Obviously we were satisfied that the noise issue was finally resolved and that they did not charge us for something that should have been resolved long ago. Both the trainee and tech were courteous. We have our furnace and air conditioner checked yearly by HCHA, and have found their techs friendly and competent.

Woke up Sunday morning to our furnace not working and showing the same error code we had just fixed back in May, I knew we needed to replace the furnace since something "bigger" had to be going on. Called Hales Corners Heating on Sunday, explained we needed a quote for a furnace replacement and were in a "no heat" situation. We were told that we would be contacted by Scott (the owner) by 8 AM on Monday. Sure enough, exactly 8 AM Monday Scott calls, we explain the situation and he said he would be over by 9 AM. He arrived early, we went through our options, gave us a very fair price compared to an estimate we received in May from a competitor for a lower-grade unit. He was very honest and told us that they were backed up, but that he was trying prioritizing people like us with "no heat" situations and he should be able to work us in by Thursday or Friday at the latest. It worked out that at 2 PM on this afternoon (Wednesday), we had the doorbell ring and they had shown up to install our new furnace. By 4:30, the new unit was up and running, and we are now back in a very happy and WARM home just in time for the snow. The technicians who installed our unit were quick, professional, and very clean with their work.Considering we had called 3 other heating contractors in the area on Sunday and Monday morning to see about competitive quotes and the earliest any of them said they could come our to even give us an estimate was Wednesday afternoon in a "no heat" situation, and with Hales Corners we not only had the estimate but the new unit installed, they have gained a level of respect from me.

My air conditioner stopped working. Called Hales Corners Heating and Air Conditioning our based on referrals from family. They were very prompt, professional, and were upfront about what was wrong with my air conditioner. My air was fixed in a timely manner. Would recommend Hales Corners Heating and Air Conditioning to everyone who needs heating and air conditioning service.

I called them to come out to check my central air that was not working . Matt came and couldn't figure out why the unit wasn't getting power to it well after a some minutes checking things I was told if I wanted him to continue I would have to pay an additional $150 I decided not to. Well after speaking with a friend she told me to check my fuse box well guess what he didn't even check the fuse box. So I called the company and spoke to the owner and was told that my unit is old I just need to replace it and that Matt had checked the fuse box 3 times I don't like liars this company is not recommended call a better place. They sent a person that wasn't very experienced and didn't want to help solve a mess up on there part

I called for a furnace tune up after WE Energy recommended a cleaning. The quoted 99 dollars and sent up appointment for 2 pm at 3:30 I called and they said they wouldn't be coming - no call... nothing. They promised to be there the next day. They came 2 hours and 45v minutes late. Then they changed the price without even looking at the WE Energy diagnosis or furnace to "at least 250" not including the cleaning. They were condescending and I quite frankly, completely wrong with their assumptions. I trust them 0%.

Unfortunately the tech that came out was unable to fix our furnace. He was nice and explained everything he was doing but ultimately said he checked everything he could do and said the most likely culprit was a bad secondary exchanger costing thousands of dollars. It just seemed like maybe he was in a hurry.I called another company the next day (Lo-Energy Heating and Cooling) and they were able to quickly diagnose a bad pressure switch and had us up and running in just a couple hours. He also found a clogged trap and drain, which the first guy missed, and fixed that for us too.I didn’t even bother trying to contact the first company based on other reviewers stating the owner was unpleasant. So, we are out $250 but at least I have found a better HVAC company to work with in the future.

My husband and I ran a rental property in Brookfield. 4 units. Hales Corners Heating was called on many occassions to help with NO HEATS and NO COOLS. Excellent up front pricing. Had the pleasure of chatting with Scott, the owner, about getting a new furnace. He is a very knowledgeable man and took the time to explain my options. The techs are all very nice and get the job done in a timely manner. I absolutely love the office ladies. They kept me informed of the techs schedules and were very helpful when I called to ask questions. Thank You Hales Corners Heating! I will be spreading the word to family and friends!

I/we recommend Hales Corners Heating and Cooling as they are very easy and pleasant to work with and explain things in a way I/we understand like our thermostat that is also connected to my phone. When we're gone we can up/down the temperature so house is always comfortable. They also clean up after themselves.

Hales Corners HVAC team was very responsive to a non operational durance I had. Weather was cold and they came out on a Sunday, diagnosed the problem, and repaired same day. I felt they stocked the right parts enabling them to do so. I’d recommend The Hales Corners Heating & AC to anyone looking for a reliable HVAC new sales and service group.

I’ve been using HCH for years to do a boiler tune up. They do a great job. Everything is always explained and any problems are fixed. The tech will even help you adjust settings. The emergency service is also great. Came over late at night to diagnose a problem and help fix it (even though it was technically just outside the boiler in the exhaust chimney).

It’s the coldest night in twenty years…What is the worst that could happen? Yep!I awoke at 5am to a chilly house, and no sound from the furnace firing up. I switched the furnace off and back on. It tried to fire up and then quit.A 5:10am call to Hales Corners Heating. Call was answered and I was given the first technician appointment. A little later, after “sun up”, the technician arrived.“Bad news” One component in the 20 year old furnace had failed, and another was on its last legs. Least expensive repair solution was offered. (still a good percentage of the cost of a new furnace) I weighed the options and asked about the installation of a “new Furnace”.Only then did the technician talk about a new sale. We reviewed various price options and I agreed to a purchase. About three hours later two installer technicians arrived. Then less than four hours later I had heat in the house. The crew, with good humor, worked inside and even outside (-14 degrees) to complete the install. The old furnace and all packing and construction leftovers were removed, even sweeping the floor to get any small items. My thanks to all who worked with me, from the call at 5am to the hand shake in the early afternoon.

Hales Corners Heating is a highly reputable and professional company. We have had many positive experiences with them over the past several years. Earlier this month our 3 year old Williamson boiler started leaking and would not light. Thus we had no heat in the house. We contacted Hales Corners Heating on a Sunday morning and they responded quickly. The Williamson boiler was still under warranty. Hales Corners provided several space heaters to tide us over until a replacement boiler could be obtained. The next day, we learned that, Williamson and the local distributor would not honor their warranty. Hales Corners Heating obtained an alternate boiler, not made by Williamson, and installed it for us later in the week at no charge to us, but at great expense to Hales Corners Heating. We have heat again. We are very happy with the new system and with Hales Corners Heating.

Furnace was not working . Called for a service call $100.00 OK we need heat ! Technician comes and furnace is working .He states , he cannot find a problem if it is working. Then tries to charge me another $125.00 to do some testing . Isn't that included in the service call ??!! So I go in "myself" and rear the error codes . Says it has a Igniter issue . Replace the Igniter and voila , furnace is working ! Will not be calling Hales corners Heating and Cooling in the future .Hope you choke on the $100.00 Scott !

Yesterday, one of your technicians came out with regard to our furnace repair need. At the conclusion of his evaluation of the problem, he determined that the circuit board on the unit (not the fan) was the reason for the furnace not blowing. He quoted almost $700 for a new circuit board and (when I asked him to test the fan so we could make sure) said he could not TEST the blower fan without replacing the circuit board first. **He then proceeded to quote me for a $5,000 (high-efficiency) replacement furnace instead of simply replacing with a comparable unit. He never even suggested it. So, all along, Up-Selling me at great expense AND not truly addressing the (misdiagnosed) issue. Really shady practice. I decided to get a second opinion today, whereas the tech immediately was able to test the fan (without replacing the board first, hmm??) to find the actual issue. Meaning, your tech completely misdiagnosed the issue in the interest of profiting from our situation or was avoiding the actual issue to sell me more. In fact, he even said, "There is no guarantee the circuit board will fix the issue" So, deciding NOT to go with guesswork, We chose to go with the other Company for our Furnace Service needs and will not be expecting to pay the service fee for your tech's visit yesterday either. Your tech was a nice enough guy, and your company has serviced our mechanicals for years which is why I am extremely disappointed at the dishonest and pushy approach to doing business with a Loyal customer at a time of desperate need. (No heat and 20º outside) even tried to lure me with a couple hundred $$ off if I ordered a new furnace immediately. Really Pushy! **BTW... The new tech quoted $500 (installed) for the same circuit board (which we did not need) so in addition, you were price gouging as well. So, not only did you not earn our business this time around, but you have lost a loyal customer for any service needs in the future as well.

AFTER 5 VISITS AND NO RESULTS TO FIX OUR FURNACE WE DECIDED TO GO TO ANOTHER HVAC DEALER. WHAT HALES CORNERS COULD,T FIX IN FIVE VISITS HE FIXED IN 25 MINUTES. BUT HE TOOK OVER 825 DOLLARS FROM US. NO REFUND , PLUS THE COSTS OF ANOTHER DEALER TO FIX WHAT HE COULD,T. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

We had a leak in our new central air conditioner right after the warranty expired. The tech just put new coolant in without fixing the leak. I had to pay over $200 for a test which was inconclusive. Scott said a major part needed replacing, but he couldn't fix it in the fall. By the next spring the price jumped up a lot. He only gave us the normal discount for the service plan we had purchased.

Their service was extremely helpful, the installation was quality and done professionally. I was very impressed how they answered all my questions and showed me what was going wrong with my old cooling set up, and how the new system will improve my cooling. Will recommend to anyone that has issues with heating and cooling!!

Had them come out for a tune up on my 2 year old furnace. Techs did the tune up and then the duct work started making a canon sound. I called that night and spoke to Scott who didn't really seem too interested in the issue I was having. I misspoke when I explained the issue and that was later used against me. The techs came back out the next morning (at no charge) and simply plugged the hole they put in the duct work for the temp test. The noise was still happening but they told me I should deal with it or they can come back out and put a register in it for a charge. I told them I would see if I could live with it. Spoke to the secretary the next day and she was going to talk to the owner and told me the guys would be back out the next morning again. They called me in the morning and told me I would be charged and I told them I will not pay to fix a problem they caused.The owner started yelling at me after I refused to pay for them to come back out and resorted back to the conversation we had on Monday. (apparently frickin is a swear word because he yelled at me not to swear at him). He then went on to call the furnace company who installed the furnace a bunch of hacks and a sideshow bob outfit. He even went as far to say there were no permits pulled for the installation of the furnace. He also informed me his techs make $30/hr and they don't work for free. He insisted that the other company had installed an oversize blower into the unit and that was the problem. Since he wouldn't let me get a word in and they weren't going to fix the issue they caused I not so nicely ended the call. I didn't realize that people aren't allowed to misspeak these days and logic is overlooked. If my 2 year old furnace was making a loud canon noise I would have called in a warranty claim not them. I simply needed a tune up and instead got rude service from the owner and a big headache. The sad part is my folks recommended this company because they said they do great work and unfortunately I will be finding them and myself a different company to service our equipment. In reading other reviews here, I notice I am not the only one who has gotten yelled at by Scott.

When speaking with Scott, the owner, on the phone, he began yelling at me and telling me that his techs have no obligation to talk to me about the warranty or maintenance plans, but instead can sell me service packages that are relatively useless without the warranty. I spent hundreds of dollars without cause, only to be yelled at by this angry man on the phone. The techs were friendly and knowledgeable, but the owner was extremely unpleasant. My future business will be going elsewhere.

Great service! I put in an online request and Annette contacted me within a half hour. I asked them to come out and inspect and tune-up. We were due for a tune up and the unit shut itself off then turned back on when I restarted it early in the morning on a -10 degree day. I wanted it checked soon, but I didn't think it was an emergency so I scheduled the tune-up. They were able to come the same day which was wonderful! Robb came hours earlier then I was expecting which was awesome since the unit turned off again and it was getting cold. Turns out it was something really dumb that we had done wrong so he helped me fix it, gave it a tune-up and some tips and was on his way all before noon. There was no more then 4 hours between the initial call and the issue being totally resolved. We will use them when we replace out AC this summer for sure! Wonderful service!!

My AC Went out last night and I called at 8 am this morning, they had someone over by 10 am (with no extra fees!). Charlie was extremely nice and walked me through what was wrong which was a capacitor. He even tested it in front of me to show me that it was blown. He had the part on his truck and replaced it in under 30 minutes. From start to finish a great experience. I recommend using them and ask for Charlie! He is awesome!

Our furnace broke down one evening in the middle of winter. We called Hales Corners Heating & Air Conditioning and they sent a representative who arrived within 15 minutes of that call. He was able to diagnosis the problem and provide a solution immediately. We set up an install the next morning, which they handled in a very timely manner, and have been not had any trouble with that appliance since.My family received extremely professional and honest service throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who is having HVAC concerns. Our air conditioner is nearing its end-life and Hales Corners Heating & Air will be the company I select to replace it.

I have been a customer since 2003 and when WE Energies replaced my meter they told me there was a small gas leak in a pipe leading to my furnace. Of course I called my heating company to come and fix the repair, however, even though I have a Preferred customer agreement with them, and it states I'm not to get charged for emergency service, I not only got charged $89.99 (diagnostic) but because they didn't carry the 3/4 inch pipe or elbow they needed they had to go to Menards to pick it up. In turn I was charged $58.19 for those parts (which the tech only paid $5 for) but another $52.65 for him to drive less than 10 minutes to pick up. I received my 20% discount but the mark up on the pieces was 60%! I felt I shouldn't have been charged the trip charge/or diagnostic fee per my Preferred Customer Agreement and certainly not had that high of a mark up on things they should have on their truck. Had the owner been even willing to take another $15 off he may have still had my business. The tech didn't give me a complete total when I signed for the service to be done even though it's all written as if he totaled it entirely, but when the work was done he then added the $89.99 in plus tax bringing the total to $315.47! I contacted the office, who then talked to the owner Scott, & he stated I was already getting the 20% discount so he wasn't going to do anything else period. I'm not searching out a new company, of which I have already found someone that has been in business 30 years, has agreements (a little higher the HCH) but I don't get charged a diagnostic fee/trip fee and they carry common parts on their trucks. I would have saved over $200 by going with the company even paying more for their agreement. Apparently Scott doesn't know the value of a longtime customer who spreads their name to promote their business versus a long time customer who will make sure to let people know they shouldn't do business with any of their 3 locations. Now he'll be losing more than 1 customer!
